Coffee Lovers, Want to Slow Aging?

That’s just one of the reasons you need to try matcha

I love the effortless ritual coffee inspires. Sunday morning sleep-ins, waking up slow with no agenda other than cozying up to a great book– a warm mug of fresh-brewed coffee in hand.

Time tends to pause within this space.

Likewise, there’s nothing better than an iced latte on a hot summer day– a perfect excuse to pause and take a break.

And, of course, there’s the undeniable transformation the first-morning cup offers you.

Coffee also has numerous health benefits. For example, drinking coffee can lower the risk of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, and heart disease.

But what about those of us– no matter how hard we try, can’t warm up to coffee or simply want another alternative?

My current fling-turned obsession is an iced matcha tea latte. It offers the same boost of energy coffee lovers have come to expect with naturally occurring caffeine, minus any jitters.

And thanks to the high content of catechins, there are numerous mental and physical health benefits.

Matcha is an aromatic high-quality tea brimming rich in antioxidants, along with the added benefit of being anti-inflammatory.

Research indicates that some of the benefits of regular green tea consumption include lowering blood pressure, cancer prevention, and also has stress-reducing qualities.

Studies suggest that matcha lowers the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Research also offers the connection between a boost in weight loss when exercising and consuming green tea.

In addition, matcha has an abundance of chlorophyll, which gives it a bright green color and many promising benefits.

I’m a huge believer in prevention. So, if I can eat or drink something I love– and it’s health-promoting, I’m all in.

Choose matcha with a vibrant green hue. In consideration of taste and quality, look for ceremonial grades.

Try and avoid matcha that has a brown or yellowish tone. Lower grades are often gritty and bitter.

When I first started learning about matcha, I found Happy Healthy Life’s matcha tea review incredibly helpful.

In case you’re still not convinced, here are some of the reasons why matcha is worth your consideration.

Ten benefits of matcha

  1. Glowing skin

  2. Slows the aging process

  3. Contains trace minerals and vitamins (A, B-complex, C, E, and K)

  4. Prevents cardiovascular disease

  5. Reduces high blood pressure and cholesterol

  6. Assists in weight loss

  7. Reduces anxiety

  8. Gives you energy and focus

  9. Contains fiber and chlorophyll

  10. Naturally detoxifies your body

Whether you’re just switching it up or wanting an alternative, give matcha a try, you might just fall in love.
