Looking for a salsa that’s both creamy and irresistibly good?

This tomatillo salsa is your answer. With its velvety blend of tomatillos, onions, and pine nuts, it’s the perfect addition to any meal, making even the simplest dishes burst with flavor.

This creamy tomatillo salsa with chile de árbol, a true family favorite, explodes with rich flavor and a subtle heat that’s sure to please. We start by simmering tomatillos, onions, garlic, and chile de arbol until tender, creating a base that’s both savory and slightly spicy (though you can make it as spicy as you prefer).

Then, we blend in toasted pine nuts, bouillon, and a touch of cayenne, resulting in a luxuriously smooth and creamy salsa that’s simply irresistible. It’s an easy-to-make salsa that brings out the best flavors of any dish, from bean tamales to burritos.

We’re a salsa-loving family through and through. Though we all have favorite levels of heat, some like it deathy hot while others prefer a mild kick (I admit I like it the mildest) we can all agree that most every meal is improved with salsa.

This salsa is my go-to more often than not. It’s always a hit, whether served with chips,, drizzling over tacos, smothering burritos, or mixed into bowls of rice and beans. As a dipping sauce on taquitos, grilled burritos, and the list goes on. Honestly there isn’t a time I don’t double this recipe, it disappears right away!
