Part One

I can always tell whether I’m on track by how well everything is flowing in the kitchen.
With a big family, it needs to be well-organized and simple. I use these kitchen hacks to make it easier.
Five places to start
- Organization: The first step to a healthy kitchen is creating a system for drawers and cupboards. Everything has a home.
- Use glass containers and label for easy grab-and-go. Restock weekly.
- Create a staple meal plan. Start easy. Put your meal plans on repeat and add something new every once in a while for variety.
- Bulk cook — Double up on meals — make extra for lunch or frozen dinners.
- Shop in Ethnic stores and food coops — They often have better prices and more selection — Need dried chiles for enchilada sauce? They’re plentiful and reasonable in a Mexican grocery store.
