If there’s one thing that’s a must-have in our house at all times, it’s homemade salsa.

We use it in almost everything — soups, refried beans, rice, Mexican bowls, Burritos, and homemade tortillas stuffed with guacamole. But it’s never really the same salsa. We have our favorites for each, as different methods of cooking and the ingredients give salsa an entirely different taste.

I started making my own homemade salsa recipes years ago, and truth be told, there is no comparison between store-bought and homemade. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re in for a wonderful surprise.

They’re easy, healthy, and delicious.

And, with the Super Bowl just around the corner, I thought I’d put together our top four homemade salsa recipes that are bold, addictively delicious, and quite irresistible.

Because, really, what’s a party without the salsa?

Seriously though, I highly suggest trying these for your next Mexican dinner. These salsas take an ordinary meal to the next level.

Easy-to-make salsa packed with the deliciousness of ripe tomatoes, garlic, onions, fresh cilantro, and a creamy surprise ingredient - ripe avocado.
Molcajete salsa in a large molcajete with chips and lime wedges on the side.
Molcajete Salsa (Salsa de Molcajete)
Molcajete salsa (salsa de molcajete) is a traditional Mexican salsa made from roasted tomatoes and chiles, then ground by hand in a stone molcajete instead of blended. It’s chunky, smoky, and deeply flavorful.
