When it comes to weight loss, there are many options out there. But if you’ve been feeling stuck, juicing may be the answer you’ve been looking for. It’s simple, easy, delicious, and loaded with nutrients to help you reach your goals.
Juicing is a powerful and effective tool to jumpstart weight loss and step into a healthier lifestyle.
Losing weight isn’t always easy, especially if we want to keep it off. Sure, it’s calories in and calories out, but it’s not always that simple. And of course, moving our body each day matters.
But it’s not just about movement and calories.
If you take a burger and fries from McDonald's and one of these sweet potato juice recipes, there’s just no comparison. The juice is loaded with all kinds of good-for-you-nutrients that promote weight loss and management. It’s a sweet and delicious way to benefit your body and lose weight while offering you a boost in health and energy.
While McDonald’s is easier to grab and go, it’s also loaded with unhealthy fats, can contribute to weight gain, and may cause long-term health issues.
Fruits, vegetables, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants contribute to our health. They support our immune function, reduce the risk of disease, improve digestion, and boost mental health.
Our body processes these two foods in very different ways.
And while food choices don’t have to be all or nothing, it does matter what we eat consistently.
Healthy hormones, happy waistline
Our hormones are greatly affected by what we eat. Processed foods don’t nourish our bodies in the same way healthy, nutrient-loaded foods do. Stress, lack of sleep, medications, and artificial ingredients can all contribute to hormonal imbalances.
When you choose healthier food options, you're supporting your body's natural hormone balance, which helps set the stage for weight loss and management.
Juicing offers nutrients and powerful antioxidants to our bodies fast. We’re giving our digestive system a break and replenishing our body with vitamins and minerals to nourish our cells.
I suggest drinking juice with healthy fat or protein to help maintain stable blood sugar levels, as juice is quickly absorbed. Eat a few nuts with your juice, or top your juice with chia, hemp, or flaxseeds.
Whether you’re juicing for weight loss, weight management, doing a juice cleanse, or just beginning your healthy journey, juicing is an easy and delicious way to boost your health, energy levels, and weight loss.
Sweet potato power

Did you know you could juice sweet potatoes?
Even if you’re not a fan of eating them, juicing offers you an entirely new experience.
As much as I’ve tried getting my kids to eat whole sweet potatoes, only one willingly chooses to eat them. But they do love these juice recipes with sweet potato and ask for a glass every time I make it.
It’s a great way to get all the health benefits and nutrients sweet potatoes offer, like beta carotene. It’s also a good source of vitamin C and potassium , and the best part is that it’s delicious.
Supercharge your morning routine
When we make healthier choices first thing in the kitchen, we feel more energetic. More productive. We feel to be more organized. Our skin glows, our weight stabilizes, and we feel good.
It’s a habit that builds positive momentum.
On the other hand, when we eat unhealthily, little by little, we lose momentum. We don’t feel as good, our clothes are tighter, our energy lessens, and we don’t feel to be as active.
Good habits build us up, and bad habits bring us down.
“When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” — Paulo Coelho
When we begin our mornings with a positive habit, something as simple as juicing, we’re setting ourselves up for success. Including healthy food choices in our morning routine is a perfect way to supercharge the rest of our day in a positive way.
When our food is right, everything else falls into place.
Moderation and mindfulness
Though juicing offers many benefits, it’s important to be mindful of including it as part of our healthy diet rather than as a replacement for whole fruits and vegetables.
It’s an excellent way to increase nutrients, but it removes most of the fiber, which is also an important part of a healthy and balanced diet.
Many successfully do a juice fast, which offers many benefits. It can go anywhere for a few days to weeks. It’s an easy way to jumpstart weight loss, cleanse our bodies, and heal. Joe Cross popularized and documented his extreme weight loss journey in Fat Sick & Nearly Dead.
It’s powerful.
But it’s always recommended to consult a healthcare professional and be mindful, as juicing isn’t meant to be a long-term solution or replacement for healthy, whole foods.
In the kitchen tips
- If you’re new to juicing, start small. It’s better to work your way up to more fruits, veggies, and greens.
- You can substitute purple sweet potatoes for orange.
- Beets and turmeric can stain clothing and work surfaces, so take extra caution with work surfaces and your clothing.
- Drink your fresh juice immediately for the most nutritional benefits. You can also store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- The leftover pulp from juicing can be reused and used in smoothies, soups, veggie burgers, etc.
- Choose organic fruits and vegetables whenever possible for the most nutrition.
- My favorite juicer is by Breville, as it makes juicing effortless. Depending on how often and what type of juicing you’ll be doing, it’s worth researching whether you prefer a masticating juicer or centrifugal juicer and also which brand works best for your needs.
- Citrus fruit, such as lemons or limes, add a boost of nutrients, and it's a good way to balance the flavor if incorporating greens.
If you’re on a wellness kick—or just want something that feels good in your body—these are some of my go-tos:
- Homemade Cashew Milk – Creamy, simple, and so much better than store-bought
- Blueberry Lemonade – Tart, sweet, and full of antioxidants
- Iced Hibiscus Tea Strawberry Lemonade – Refreshing and floral with a vitamin C boost
